C/20 to 5 bolt conversion

I'm starting my lowering project. I have a '71 C/20 LWB that when finished will have a 4/6 drop and 5 bolt wheels. I've decided to use a '77 Suburban as a donor. All the needed parts have been removed and the rest has been sent to the melting pot. I'm doing an A-arm swap as well as adding the donors power steering.
First question; Should I be paying any attention to the shims, either on the truck as I tear off the original suspension or from the donor?

I wouldn't worry about the shims tell i have to do a driveway alignment then drive it to a real alignment shop.

It's looking like the control arm swap isn't going to work. The bottom shaft is wider and will hit the headers on the drivers side. I'll spend the extra cash and get the conversion spindles from ECE

The photo is of the 3/4 set up. The 1/2 ton a arm is at least an inch wider.

If you can get a set of '63-'72 arms, they should be the same as your 3/4 ton ones, outside of the ball joint hole size. The '73 and later arms use rubber bushings and end up wider because of it.
