Flexplate question
I have a 5.3 out of a 2001 Tahoe and a4l60e out of a 1999 suburban with a vortec 350. The flexplate is slightly of it seems, do I need to redrill it or is there a different plate I need to buy?

The 300mm Converter bolt circle is a slightly larger Metric Pattern, 298mm Converters have a 10.75" Converter Bolt Circle Pattern. I do not, Nor recommend "Slotting" the holes, Drill new holes like shown, (Black Dots). You will also need a Crank Pilot Extension like this, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-704004/overview/ http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps037qtqw3.jpg |
Re: Flexplate question
Will that spacer work for mating a 4l80e to a 5.3l that originally had a 4l60e?

When I convert from 4L60E to 4L80E, 99% of the time its in a vehicle that is performance oriented, So naturally it needs a Stall Converter, I have my Converter Shop build a 4L80E Converter that fits a Dished 300mm Flexplate.....So I don't have to deal with Spacers or Redrilling the Flexplate. |

I ended up just having my local trans shop build a torque converter for it, it was pretty simple since they're familiar with the LS swap stuff. thanks for all the helpful replies! It's getting closer to finished.
