Help with Spark Plug Choice

I am going to change the plugs in my bone stock all original 72 c10 with a 350 4bbl. and 87,000 miles. If I keep the truck 10 more years I may, at the most, put 10/15,000 miles on it over that time. Other than installing the Pertronix Distributor, ignition wires and one of their 40,00 volt coils I have waiting to be installed and maybe putting a dual snorkel air cleaner on the truck in the future the engine shall remain stock. My research has told me there are 4 different types of plugs, copper, platinum, double platinum and iridium. The prices vary from 1.89 for copper plug to 8.25 for the iridium. Can you guys/gals give me some real world info on what you are using for plugs. If my old memory is functioning correctly I believe that unlike todays vehicles the plugs in these engines form the 70's needed plug changes every 10,000 miles

Stock truck and having no issues I would stick with what's already in it.

R45TS plugs

I would pull them out and look at the burn on them. If they look good go with the same thing.
Back when I had the stock 307 I changed them every 15,000 but I would pull them and wire brush them good also if I thought I had a bad one.

I go against the grain and have always run Autolite 24 Copper Core plugs.

Its funny you mention the Autolite plugs. Not knowing what wa sin the truck and how long they'd been there I went and pulled the one closest to front on drivers side and her it is . Its an Autolite # 26 and looking at it I think the electrode looks like it should but I would guess it has been in there a long time.

I would go with the ac plugs and don't forget to open the gap for the electronic ign to .045 should get you 15 easy if everything else is good . back then tolerences and points weren't as good as they are now 100,000 was a worthless engine now its nothing that's why plugs had to be changed so often . I do still have a spark plug cleaner I use for points
