Cutting half of a coil off front spring, how to posistion in A arms?

When you cut a half of a coil off do you position spring 180 degrees from little pocket in lower a arm?If you do that of course makes the top a arm spring position 180 degrees off from its intended position.

I don't think you can cut off half a coil and make the spring sit where it's supposed to. Maybe if you cut a little from top and bottom

I don't think you can cut off of top. When you cut half of a coil off on bottom of spring you can either put the spring where it is supposed to go on the top A arm or where it is supposed to go on the bottom A arm. That is my question.

Quite a while ago when i wanted to lower my truck i did the same thing.I cut my springs off at the bottom of the spring. Take the end of the spring and place it right back in the little notch in the lower A arm and re assemble everything. I'm not sure how much you want to lower your truck but when i did mine I took a turn and one quarter off and it lowered it about 2" I wouldn't go much more than this by using this method because it will make front alignments hard if not impossible to do.:metal:

I recently cut 3/4 off the bottom of my 72. I positioned the end of the lower spring about one inch from the lower pocket. The top seem to fit good at that position. It lowered the truck one inch.
