Is that the spring that goes inside the kick panel or did the one I sent you earlier not work out?
If it is the one for the vent door in the kick panel I have that one too I believe. Let me know. Jay

Its the spring that goes from the cowl to the vent door on the right side under the cowl. I think you have confused me with someone else because I don't think I have ever bought anything form you.

I just bought a bunch of parts from a 1972 C10 that a guy parted out. It had A/C and I think when he showed me the boxes of loose parts that I might have seen one in there. I didn't post sooner because I thought you had one located - wanted to give other person first shot.
Also, it would be "bragging rights"?? to be able to claim I sold two springs to people in Canada. hahaha

I looked through the boxes and couldn't find the spring you are looking for - some others, but not the correct one. Sorry. Jay

Thanks for the link Pete. I surfed around in thee and it seems you'd need a spring on hand to get all the needed specs from an original.

Hmmm...

I still have the one in Greg's picture but it's in use in my truck. I think I also have my original somewhere, but one of the hooks broke off. I bent the broken end to work. I also have another, but it is broken in the coil portion. I may be able to use the 2 broken ones and the additional pictures in my file to spec out a suitable replacement. It'll probably take some time though. I've thought about having some reproduced. Maybe the place in your link would be a less costly alternative. The toughest part would be determining the "spring rate". I wonder how big the market here would be.

This place is 16 miles from me. Maybe I should pay them a visit!

A form member sent me one earlier this year. It was a little rusty but looked ok, well when I went to pull it to install it the hook broke off. Found one at lowes that works. Not quite as thick of wire but it does the job.

I bought a variety pack at NAPA for about 5 bucks, I was able to make one work. If it doesn't have to be a GM this worked pretty well.

Thanks for the tips. I'l try Lowes and Napa here but know they don't always carry the same things as the stores in the USA.

Jim if you go the the last and they can't help you with spring maybe you could get plant tour and that would be interesting to see how springs are made.

Re: WTB Cowl to Vent Door Spring

If you go the NAPA route and your's does not carry them, let me know and I will pick a pack up for you.
