Wire on trans

Maybe someone can help me. I have a 1979 chevy blazer. On the trans/ transfer case is a wire that is plugged into the trans shifter linkage. I believe it is to let you know when the 4 wheel drive is engaged. I have the wire that is attached to the trans an I think it goes up through the shifter cover and goes somewhere. That is what I want to know, where does the other end go and what does it connect to? I will get pictures later. Thanks, John

Re: Wire on trans

If its the 4wd indicator it goes up the dash, lights up when put in 4wd.

Re: Wire on trans

Thanks, would anyone have a diagram or drawing of where the wires run?
I have the one connected to the trans but that is it. From that point I need to know where to run the rest.

Thanks b454rat for your info. John
