Is this piece of clutch linkage available?

Hey guys, I am either going to have to repair this or purchase a new one if they are available....so that leads to my question...what's the best way to repair this? I know...fill weld it and grind smooth....which I am terrible at. haha Are new ones produced? As you can see from the wear...I doubt it will last a very long time under the load of a new pressure plate. :chevy:

The pic does it no justice. Other than grease and dirt it's a solid piece. Pic taken in the barn while dark. It's also a free part that I'd comfortably run with no problem.

Re: Is this piece of clutch linkage available?

Never ordered from LMC so I never checked.

63C10: I noticed it looked worn out, but since I don't have any spares I figured a couple to keep in the glove box just in case is better than none at all! haha But you mentioned it's solid so that's awesome. :chevy:

After checking Orange County truck and car shop, Classic Parts of America, Napa, and O'reilly auto I didn't think to check LMC so I checked here. Thanks to all those for Helping rather than make a big deal about it. :chevy:

Is the notch suppose to be in the round shaft?

According to the pictures of new ones I don't think so. Due to the fact those parts are never lubed the notch would appear after many years of use....Heck they lasted 50 years! lol I am sure it would last many more to, but rather have new. haha

Re: Is this piece of clutch linkage available?

I'm a welder and see a easy repair on that part...weld it and file it back to shape.

1963c-10 09-15-2016 04:59 PM

Re: Is this piece of clutch linkage available?

The notch looked machined flat....if its from wear, I would replace with a new part for $13. I will try and get home before dark and get better pics and relook at it.

Re: Is this piece of clutch linkage available?

I looked at the part again last night TJ and I have to agree with the forum. Downside of a dark barn.....the part does have a groove worn into it. With that being said, I have no problem shipping it if you still want it. It has been mentioned that it is an easy fix, but the option is your to decide. Just let me know.

Re: Is this piece of clutch linkage available?

that will more than likely not be the only piece that needs welding. the holes that the linkage ends go in are also worn as are the other linkage ends. this has all been brought up more than once.
