:metal: remove all the smog crap, and wire up your TCC lockup like Mike's website shows. that's what i did. if you come up with a creative way to cover the ESC hole, let us know.

i removed EVERYTHING. i have 3 vacuum lines now, 1 for the distributor, 1 for the brake booster and 1 for the heater vent opener. i have removed all of the a/c stuff except for the junk on the fire wall which is being removed as soon as i get time to but the non a/c blower box on. as far as engine related wiring i removed everything but, the hot wire to distributor, the tach lead to the distributor, the oil pressure sending unit wire, and i got a 1 wire alternator and the single wire is run through the "air gap" part of my intake so you can't even see it. removed all the emmision equip liek egr, all the charcole/evap stuff, and anything else. i pretty much have an engine simpler than one that would have come out in the 60's

Nyah nyah! I got only one! (Vacuum Advance) My heater door is mechanical and I don't have power brakes. :D But, I have the hose running to my air filter housing, and the PCV Valve tube, as well as the Charcoal Canister tube...but I have a BUNCH of wires on my firewall, and I dunno if I should/need to keep them all. Since I don't have a damn thing electronic under my hood except the Alternator, Starter, Distributor, and Electric Choke.

Isn't California pretty stringent on smog equipment? Or is Gov. Elect Swartzenegger going to loosen the "terminator" grip of the smog laws?

Does your emissions label show it as having the "YDR emissions hose routing?" My emissions sticker is the one below.

If it does, and any of it is still in working order I'm willing to pay shipping for the AIR pump and brackets, the smog lines that go to the manifolds and the hoses that cross over the intake, and the thing that goes on the right manifold to make it warm up faster. San Antonio has been warned that we will be having visual and tailpipe inspections on all that stuff soon, but the state won't say when. Those are the items my '86 305 is missing.

ocbaud 10-13-2003 11:06 PM

that is what sticker i have, but sorry, most of that smog stuff has already been taken off long ago and gotten rid of

Slonaker 10-14-2003 12:32 AM

That's the problem around here, too. Those parts are long gone on most trucks. I'm trying to beat the rush that will happen when they start checking. We aren't exempt here until the truck is 25 years old, so I have a ways to go.

Of course I'd be pretty happy if my truck just ran right now... :)

California is stupid, they call it 30 years, PLUS the current model year, so I guess you could say it's really 29 years..and my truck isn't exempt YET..as of 1/1/04 it will be though :D

79BIG10 10-14-2003 12:46 PM

I took out all the vacuum lines except for the PCV valve, the HEI advance, the brake booster, the transmission line, and heater line. All the emissions are gone.

BTW: Oklahoma doesn't have emissions testing.

crackajacka 10-14-2003 03:03 PM

haha i was wondering about that.hopefully if they ever start having emmision tests my truck will be emmission's exempt

1985K10 10-14-2003 05:21 PM

I Have A/C, never use it so I took the belt off. Cranks are cool, wish I had a P/W on the passenger side though!

RiverCityChevy 10-14-2003 08:19 PM

Heck take out the inner fenders, scrape the firewall clean, make it nekid, j/k use a big hammer...lol
:bs: :D
