1 quart of Por 15 enough?
A distributor close to me has 2 quarts left but they are $67/quart. Would one be enough to do the chassis and other parts? I'd hate to buy more than I need.
I was told one quart will cover 96/sq ft. Thanks |
Re: 1 quart of Por 15 enough?
You want to apply it quite thin, and you want two coats. I think you'll be fine with a quart.
Then again, you will probably have a use for the other quart at SOME time in your life. If this is a good price, get it. The stuff starts to cure once you open the can, so some people poke a wee hole in the side of the can, pour out what they need, then fill the can with MIG gas through the hole, and close it with a large wood screw. I haven't gone that far, but I have used similar paint that certainly gets thicker in the can over short time. |

I know 1 quart wasn't enough to do my chassis inside and outside the channel

Thanks for the response and good tip about putting the gas in the can.
The guy at the store said you could also pour into a ziplock bag. At Napa they have a similar product called Dom 16. Supposed to be the same thing at half the price. I'll try it out on my tank brackets soon. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: 1 quart of Por 15 enough?
2 quarts wasn't even close for me. $67 sounds a little high. Check Amazon and summit for cheaper prices. Also it set up very quickly so do as much at a time as possible.

Low,
That is our Canadian prefered pricing :( Amazon.ca has it for 52 and free shipping so that's better - good suggestion. Thanks for the heads up on setting up quickly. |
Re: 1 quart of Por 15 enough?
Also if it dries on your skin it will not come off. It won't come off anything when it dries. So cover everything up good. We kept an old roll of plastic to lay over the floor. We painted everything we could with it.

Yeah I've heard it stick to everything and is very bad for you overall. When I use I'll have the garage door open.
