Chevy rearend question

I'm wanting to know if the 67-72 Chevy 4x4 1/2 ton front and rearends can be swapped out with 73-up 1/2 ton front and rearends? Do they have the same spring pad width? Is there any difference in the lower shock mounts? I know the pinion yokes are different and would require an offset u-joint, but need more info. I'm trading my 89 K5 lifted Blazer for a 68 Chevy SWB 4x4 pickup and it has 5.13 gears front and rear with detroit lockers in each rearend. I want to go to 4.10's, but want to know what my options are.

Thanks for the help,
Doug

C to C on the spring pads on the longhorns, 1 tons, & 4x4s should be 40"(67-72). the width on the 73 up trucks diff will work, but the spring pads need to be relocated(I think they are 42 1/2" center to center. The later (73 up ) 1 tons should still have the 40" C toC on the pads.....that doesnt help much tho unless you want a duallie. you will also need to relocate the shock mounts, as the 73 up are fore & aft. Good luck, crazyL:burnout:
