Removing the speedometer needle

My needle moves but nothing else, how do I separate the needle from the shaft?

What are you trying to fix? I try and not pull the needles as they are hard to get back on in the correct location.

Re: Removing the speedometer needle

I would replace the head. I have not had much luck reviving dead ones with out replacing parts. I lube them first and give them a spin with the drill to test. If good I'll redo them. After fixing one up and resetting the mileage I spin them up again and put a mile on it.
