Removing the speedometer needle
My needle moves but nothing else, how do I separate the needle from the shaft?

What are you trying to fix? I try and not pull the needles as they are hard to get back on in the correct location.

The gears are stuck and not moving, trying to get it back working so I can have a speedometer back. I can some what gauge my speed without it

I would replace the head. I have not had much luck reviving dead ones with out replacing parts. I lube them first and give them a spin with the drill to test. If good I'll redo them. After fixing one up and resetting the mileage I spin them up again and put a mile on it.
