Vinegar at work.

I'll try and take some pics tomorrow.....my method is really "jerry rigged."

I decided to let the cable ends soak overnight in the vinegar. Hopefully that will make them shiny and get me through a couple of starts this fall.

If you've got the length, try cutting back an inch or two to get clean copper, unless you have fixed-lug terminals.

That's not a bad idea. I'm letting it soak overnight to see what the effect is....if it's good I may take your advice.

And the more I think about it (and watch youtube videos) the more I want to go on and make my own cables as it's been suggested many times here.

Ugh....tension in negative caused the cable to come out of the soak. I may go on and make new cables.

If you want the copper to shine like new it is lemon juice and salt that you soak them in and you should see results in minutes

I've tried both and they both left a weird after taste and upset my stomach. I'd leave the battery cables out for best results
