MSD Atomic stock gas tank
I’d like to install my second MSD Atomic Efi in my 1972 with return line. I want to leave the gas tank where it is at since I have a receiver hitch installed where a rear mounted gas tank would go.
Anyway, would I be able to do this with a stock tank? Does anyone have any ideas on my options to get it installed? |
Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
I am installing a Holley Sniper on my 70 with stock tank this weekend. I bought a Edelbrock sump that mounts the fuel pump under the hood. No return line needed. Does have a vent line that needs to go to tank or charcoal canister. I bought a 72 fuel sender to run it to.

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
Stock tank with Atomic should work. I would use the under hood sump type fuel system though just to keep the noise down!

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
Noise is not an issue. In the area where I live I need to use a return line. So fuel senders have a return line port?

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
71 and72 does. Extra port was emissions. I believe noise level that weq92f was referring would be from fuel pump if installed in tank.

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
This would be the sump I am referring to. I purchased thru Summit.

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
Keep them coming guys. Just looking for advice on what will work with my application. I have the full MSD Atomic Master kit already. I just don’t care to move my gas tank to the rear on this truck since I mainly use it for work and pushing snow.

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
Just run an external pump under the cab. It’s low enough below the tank to do fine.

Re: MSD Atomic stock gas tank
I was planning on running the external pump and return line from msd. I just need to know if there is a port on the stick gas tank for the return line. Do I have to change the fuel sender to one with an additional port if there is no port on the gas tank?
