Inline fuel filter
 

I found this in a bucket of parts from a friend and was wondering if anyone else has used them and how you liked or disliked them? I'm currently using the clear plastic one but want something a little smaller and glass.
I will be putting in a 350 in a month so rounding up parts now.

ive used them in the pass i like them ez to clean & u can c whats in your gas tank !!!

I have one on my truck right now. I kinda like it. You can take it apart and service it and you can see what's going on really easy. When I got my truck the fuel system was a mess. I've since done a new tank and all new lines so I don't have as much a need for it as I did.

I have seen too many crack or break. Gas on hot engine, not good. It is nice to have a see thru filter, but I use all metal filters. Just overly paranoid I guess.

Thanks everyone. I will use it as I like what everyone said about easy to service and see whats in our overpriced gas. I understand as well about the cracking/breaking but I think as long as I don't overtighten the ends, it should be good. I will get some replacement filters, and put it with my stash of parts.

I had one on my Nomad years ago and it came apart while driving. Not good. It seams the threads wore where it screws together letting it come apart. Might have been just a bad one. Won't use one again.

I had one crack open. I smelled gas, pulled over to see gas boiling on my intake.
It’s not the overtightening that causes it to come apart.
It’s vibration that does it.

Glass? Never. The big plastic replaceable FRAM style goes on mine. I've used these for 25 years without an issue. You can immediately see if the fuel pump is working and if there is dirt in the line.

The glass ones are a no go for me as well. I've heard to many bad stories about them to risk it. I've ran the plastic style ones before with no problems. But have since switched to the metal ones.

I use the plastic ones for initial engine break in or if I think I have a flow/dirt issue. Otherwise I use the metal ones.

I agree glass one are dangerous ,the fram metal one are a lot safer ,just pop a new one every so often .

Ok. You all have convinced me: no glass. I will stay with the plastic and/or metal.

I installed this when I replaced my kinked fuel line its a Sniper
