2wd vs. 4wd frame
Are the frames the same on a '76 swb 2wd and 4wd?

Re: 2wd vs. 4wd frame
for the most part yes .
the front end stamping for the brake hoses and crossmember are a hair different . also the brackets will need to be added to the 2wd frame to make it 4wd . and the front spring hangers for the rear springs need swapped or add a 3" block to bring the rear up to the 4x4 height . places like www.diy4x.com can sell you a kit to make it swap over to 4wd . www.offroaddesign.com has some parts also like a engine cross member for the 4wd . but if you have a frame you need and the body off the other its just a swap over for the most part . I am currently doing a c-10 to k30 body swap . need the 4wd more than 2wd . |

Re: 2wd vs. 4wd frame
then reverse the info i gave you .
heck if you were closer i would prob give you a good mid 80's long bed frame 2wd and you just chop it down . you will have some holes to drill . i am surprised you cant find a decent 2wd frame already . |
