First off hello everyone .Can someone help me figure out this gremlins. I turn my Wil e rd on low or high they won't work. But if I push on the sprayer button on the switch the wipers work but only for a few seconds. I can also control the speed of the wiper by pushing in the switch. But can't get them to work on the low or high setting. It h a s me scratching more than my head now. :hc:

You are only getting a ground through the Dark Blue wire to the wiper. Is the wiper switch mounted in the dash? If so, with the ignition switch on turn the switch to the low position, reach up under the dash and wiggle the connector on the back of the wiper switch to see if you have a bad connection there. Try the high position also. If that doesn't do anything take a jumper wire with alligator clips on both ends and connect one end to bare metal on the wiper (not the screws) and the other end to bare metal on the cab and see what happens. Post back

Edit: Also make sure that the connectors on the wiper are connected like the picture below.

Lockdoc. The wiring looks the same as the picture. But what by connect one lead of the clip to the bare metal of wiper ? ( Do you mean the wiper arm ?)

All the wire does is to make sure you are getting a ground. If one of those procedures makes them work you are still not done with them. You will have to fix them so they keep working......

So if I apply a good ground if the clips work. Would that take care of the issue found with the clips

Yes, if it was a permanent wire. There is a small brass strap on one of the mounting screws that is the actual ground but it is hard to see unless you pull the motor out.

I added a picture of the ground strap on the wiper motor mounting pad.

Re: 67 chevy wipers

Ok. I just tried the jumper wire no change in condition. Reached hand up to back of switch wipers worked as long as I supplied lite pressure to the connector. Thinking I need to pull the switch and check both ends of the connector.

Yes, try cleaning the terminals and make sure the nut holding the switch in the dash is tight.

Re: 67 chevy wipers

Found the issue with the wipers. Someone didn't put the retaining bezel nut on. Which cause a weak ground. Now onto the gas gauge.
Big thanks to Lock Doc

Good deal. Glad you got it fixed. Post up a new thread on the fuel gauge if you can't figure it out.....

Re: 67 chevy wipers

Any ideas on where I can locate a bezel nit. The one the tightens the switch to the dash. Local hardware that usually has everything doesnt care it
