what this hole for?
1 Attachment(s)
I took the rear bumper off my '65 suburban to paint it and install a bumper to body seal i am making.
I found these holes on both sides, plugged with a gray/silver plastic plug, the same as those that plug the holes in the side support where hinges would be if my sub with end gates was a barn door style. I have owned this truck since 1969, i dont remember drilling these holes, but i also havent seen or heard anything about them either on pickups or suburbans. thats the plug sitting on the ledge above the hole. so i assume they are factory, does anyone know?Attachment 1832343 |
Re: what this hole for?
Could it be an access hole to be able to clean out the boxed in rear quarters similar to what the rocker panels have?

Re: what this hole for?
Not likely in AZ but rustproofing?

Re: what this hole for?
It could be an aligning hole for assembly in the factory.
