Grille installation question

Hey forum,

So I noticed that the way the old grille was connected to the brackets was via rivets, is this necessary when I install new brackets? Or can I just bolt and nut it?

Your grill was not originally installed with pop rivets, it had hard rivets similar to the bolts I posted.

Hey Mantruck, I believe it’s 12. I got 15 just in case.

Someone put screws with nuts on my truck. They were old straight head screws and were rusted so bad I had to drill them out. Use stainless if you are going to screw them in. You can only see the 4 in the front without opening the hood and the screws look fine. I picked them up at the local auto fastener store.
