C notch necessary for 3” drop?

Just wondering if this is something I need to do when using 3”
Drop rear coils on a 1960 c10? Some kits advertise it for 4” and lower but I wanted to know if I will run into issues at 3”. Thanks

Re: C notch necessary for 3” drop?

Well, just for reference......I just installed a 5" spring and a 1" block in the rear of my 64. The rear axle will hit the frame only on big dips. I'd say in the 200 miles that I've put on the truck with this set up, it has hit the frame maybe 4 or 5 times. So, I think I'll go ahead and put in a small bolt in c-notch. Previous to this set up, my truck had a 3" spring and it made no contact at all. Note: I don't haul anything of significant weight.

I have a 2 inch drop spring and a 1 inch block. No frame mods and zero problems.
