Wire clips and hangers

What is everyone using for supporting the wire loom under the dash and engine compartment?
I am looking at those self adhesive pads that you run a zip tie through , do they hold up ?

GMC Paul is a vendor on this site
If you look on his site and search for:

1967-72 Wire Harness Gutter Plastic Channel Used To Route Wires Across Firewall or Radiator Support

Hope this helps

Re: Wire clips and hangers

The plastic stick-on clips/wire holders are one of those things that you get ehat you pay for. Most any clip that has "3M" sickty tape should be of better quality. I have seem the cheaper one's plastic get brittle, but mostly due to outdoor applications. I have also seen the cheaper one's sticky tape get dry and let go, then you have the wires unsupported with a square piece of plastic zip tied to it.

I will typically find a place to zip tie the wire bundles to and avoid adding sticky hangers where possible. That covers most cases unless you are OCD, then I can appreciate the "neatness" of the hangers. Look for the 3M stuff.

I would avoid them in the engine bay really. The environment will be hard on the palstic and tape both. Under the dash is a better place for them to live.
