Re: ORD steering brace

How do you overpower the steering box on a 2 wheel drive truck? I have seen C10's take ridiculous abuse and never cracked a frame around the steering box. I can see putting them on 4WD's but I don't get the 2WD's.

85 2wd of mine was broken when i purchased the roller truck to build up . i had to weld it up and use the plate kit to fix it . even had a crack in the lower rail lip at the first of 3 bolts that holds the crossmember to the frame .

I have been thinking about doing this on mine as a precaution. How is the fit and finish?

Re: ORD steering brace

Nicest aftermarket stuff I've installed recently.
Needed a spacer between it and the factory crossmember.
Tightened up the steering considerably, but changed the box the pitman arm and added the brace in one shot.

Re: ORD steering brace

the ones i have installed just the bolt in brace kit and nothing else ..... they are much more firm in the feedback not as spongey . taking out the frame flex in this area does a lot .
