NOS manual box on added an ORD box brace.
Strange enough the frame wasnt already broken. |

Test drove it after changing the oil.

How do you overpower the steering box on a 2 wheel drive truck? I have seen C10's take ridiculous abuse and never cracked a frame around the steering box. I can see putting them on 4WD's but I don't get the 2WD's.

85 2wd of mine was broken when i purchased the roller truck to build up . i had to weld it up and use the plate kit to fix it . even had a crack in the lower rail lip at the first of 3 bolts that holds the crossmember to the frame .

Brothers 78 was Our 68 is broke Was really surprised my 73 wasn't |

Broke nearly off at the front crossmember on the 78

I have been thinking about doing this on mine as a precaution. How is the fit and finish?

Nicest aftermarket stuff I've installed recently.
Needed a spacer between it and the factory crossmember. Tightened up the steering considerably, but changed the box the pitman arm and added the brace in one shot. |

the ones i have installed just the bolt in brace kit and nothing else ..... they are much more firm in the feedback not as spongey . taking out the frame flex in this area does a lot .
