I am not having any luck installing this on the passenger side of my 72's bench seat.

Hard to do with the seat in the truck, basically slide the spring over the square seat latch bar, compress the spring, and install the Key into the slot and let the spring capture it.

Yeah, it sounds so simple but it is a pain with the seats in the truck.

Make sure that the key (square piece) is all the way out when you try to put it together. It is easier with 2 people. Push on the key from the inside of the track while you slide the seat back and forth a little. This will let the key slide all the way to the outside. Hold it in that position while you assemble the spring and keeper. This is next to impossible for one person to do with the seat installed.....

I will include a couple of pictures of the parts with this post. The first picture of the parts assembled is looking at the bottom and the second picture is looking at the top.

There was a You Tube video on this but the guy threw his camera and broke it before he got through it

Can you zip tie the spring in place and then cut it off after getting it on

maybe a stupid question, but how does it work? how do you move it in order to slide the seat?

You compress the spring (freeing the détentes) using the handle on the other side as a lever.

Thank you for the great pictures! It sounds like I am doing it correctly but I think that the issue is I am trying to do it by myself. I will have to ask someone to hold the key in place while I try to install the spring and clip.

Thanks!
