4l80e infi

Guys,
I have been thinking about swapping out the th350 for a 4l80e transmission. Weighing the pros and cons...
Any thoughts are appreciated

Massive leap in technology in this swap...

Many questions:

Engine it will go behind?
Truck size and style?
Intended use?

You do know you will need a standalone control computer, to control the operation of the trans...

DO you just want an overdrive trans?

i understand the stand alone controller I have been looking at these off and on for a while now. Yes i want an overdrive but something that will stand up behind a big cube small block stroker.
I am not concerned with the modifications as i have done several different tranny swaps in my lifetime, how ever i am concerned with the reliability and functionality i guess. I get mixed reviews on the controllers etc etc...

Love mine except the speedo drive. Maybe I have the cable bent too sharp somewhere but the needle bounces badly under 40 sometimes.

If I had it to do over again, I'd bit the bullet and buy the $600 tailhousing with the mechanical speedo drive cast into it!

davepl...I find if I drop out the cable and lube it with gravite based grease the bouncing issue usually goes away...

Hope this helps

4L80E is the way to go then...make sure its built correctly and has new solenoid pack installed...dont trust the old one....

Controllers are a mixed bag...

I have had best results so far using...https://www.summitracing.com/parts/tci-302820 which includes the harness...

Hope this helps
