Rear shock bolt ripped out of frame

What’s my best bet at going about this ? ... I plan on redoing the whole suspension, brakes, everything as I have the truck down to a rolling frame right now. But the previous owner really... badly welded this on here and I got it off ... but I don’t see how I’d put another one in ... is there any good relocations for better shock placement, should I just bite the bullet and do a 4 link?

I would make a plate to cover up that mess...no big deal to fix that right

It all depends on how much effort you want to put into the solution & what your ultimate goals are. The easy fix is another plate on top of the problem area w/a new, same style shock stud. The plate could be welded or bolted in place depending on your skill level or tools on hand.

Relocated upper mounts can be done or the complete suspension change as you mentioned will also put the shocks in a different spot.

More info from you about everything yields better options.

Plan is to have. Nice handling Street/strip truck

Decent power goals in mind with lots of money in suspension/brakes

If going back with welding I've seen these on Amazon (I think)

Re: Rear shock bolt ripped out of frame

Not a bad idea

But I’d have to figure out a way to cut it out and fill it in with a new hole... I’d rather not just put a plate over it cause then it wouldn’t be even with the other side

Re: Rear shock bolt ripped out of frame

simple plate and one of the studs like KW shows will fix it.....doesnt have to match the other side
that small of a thickness difference wont affect anything

Re: Rear shock bolt ripped out of frame

Alright maybe I’ll do that then

I assume you put it on the inside of the frame ?

The easiest option that aligns best.

Not trying to be an shmuck, but while that's an answer, it's a vague one. Were you planning to swap out the OE stuff for aftermarket options (optimum) or tweak the factory parts to work 'better' (improved OE but still OE limitations)?

Gotcha.... Now we're better advised.

Look @ Ride Tech, Hotchkis, & QA1 for suspension upgrades that are bolt-on swaps w/your existing crossmember & steering box up front. No Limit Engineering or Roadster Shop for revised & updated geometry bolt-in suspensions w/revised crossmembers w/R&P steering.

Check them out & share your thoughts. We can help guide your decisions from there.

With lots of money in suspension and brakes, and since you have the truck down to a rolling frame, sound like ya answered your own question.
