Front frame crossmember ??
1 Attachment(s)
Hello, I'm a new member and just picked up a 64 GMC, noticed that somebody in the past used the front crossmember as a tow point. It has pulled the one side of the crossmember out of the frame rivets and bent it. This is the steel crossmember that is directly under the radiator. Was wondering if this is repopped or do I have to go junk yard shopping to find another?
Thanks in advance Steve |

Thanks in advance Steve[/QUOTE As far as I know that is not reproduced. I just changed the same crossmember in my 65 C10, as is also had towing damage. The hardest part is getting the old one out due to the factory rivets. A cutting torch really makes the job easier. I just bolted the replacement one back in. |

Another option is to become a supporting member of the forum. This will allow you to post both foresale and wanted ads in the parts section. I am sure you can find it here. For getting the old one out I use an air chisel and take the heads off then use the air chisel to drive them out. Once you get the hang of it they come out quickly.
