Stock air cleaner that would fit Holley carb
 

I have been looking for an air cleaner
to fit a holly 4-barrel carburetor.

Is there anyone that knows if there are
cars or trucks from any era that would fit?

The one I found was probably for a Rochester
Quadrajet it doesn’t clear the back bowl

I really liked the chrome air cleaner that
came on my truck but isn’t practical for the
lack of attention I give it lol

Thanks for any help in cross referencing any
known part that fits. I’m not using this to
find one I need help on what application
had the larger opening for a 4 barrel that
didn’t use a q-jet

Look at the Camaro z-28 / Chevelles air cleaners those 2 come to mind They won't be cheap, maybe find an ebay special .

Raise the air cleaner base using a spacer.

Yep--spacer, I used a later model (factory steel one about 1'' thick) with TBI that has the hose fitting on it for the PCV vent

You just need a spacer. Why not run an open element if you like those? Some of those end up needing a spacer, too. I run a Moroso open element on top of the factory spacer, so still use the factory crankcase breather. This is with a QuadraJet. I think the base didn't fit the carb. I also like the venturi affect of the taller spacer

I bought a 70 Z/28 air cleaner to run on my L36 427 for my short step. It is a dual snorkel that uses a 14x3 hi-perf air filter the same as the OEM open element air filters. $190 or so on Rock Auto.

67-69 Z/28 air cleaner is the best drop base open element Holley air filter. Provide max hood clearance or let you run max air filter size. Around $80.

Both are designed for factory dual inlet holley carb applications.

some first gen Camaro came factory with a holley spreadbore I think they were dual snorkel

67-69 Z/28's and L78 Camaros had square bore holleys, but they used open element air filters as I said above. The 70-72 Z/28 and I THINK the 402 in same years had the dual snorkel.

I use a open with 2" spacer on my 64 SS Impala. I have a 4 barrel Edelbrock Carburetor on it. Works great.:chevy:
