LQ4 '71 C20 Engine Mount Question
I recently installed a 2001 4L80E behind a Gen 1 sbc in my C20. That means my driveline, shift linkage, etc is all setup for the stock bellhousing location. Will an LQ4 clear the firewall in the stock Gen 1 bellhousing location? If so, can anyone recommend a vendor for the appropriate motor adapter plates? I would also like to maintain the crankshaft centerline, meaning I don't want to raise or lower the engine too much or this will affect my shift linkage and possibly driveline phase angle.
I appreciate the advice! |
Re: LQ4 '71 C20 Engine Mount Question
Although mines a C30 I used the Ebay adapter plates that locate the rear of the LS in the same location as a small block...theres plenty of room between engine and firewall on mine...I dont know about your c20 though..

I don't see why there would be any difference between a C20 and a C30.

Re: LQ4 '71 C20 Engine Mount Question
The "tejas" mounts keep everything as close to stock as possible AND allow you to keep the factory AC compressor and in its original down low position (without cutting the frame!)
