Anyone running a quick release steering wheel?

I'm going this route and was wondering if anyone else has done this as well.... I just purchased the NRG short hub and quick release... i'm still trying to decide what steering wheel i wanna go with... (without breaking the bank)

Anyone??

.
How do those hubs work...can you use any wheel or does it take a special one?

I had one years ago on a '71 Chevelle daily driver. It was no problem; just be sure to pull on it, every time after it's off & back on, to ensure it's locked in.

had one in a fixed seat / fixed column race truck, pert near impossible to get in there without it

Yes, Theft deterrent, would be nice to remove to work under the dash at times... and just the cool factor.

I think you can get quite a few different wheels, i think they have the same industry standard bolt patterns.

I can't steel this car without a steering wheel - said no thief ever..

in jest, but short of maybe crack heads or passing teenagers, not a solid security plan..

good luck!

Hard to stop a ramp truck. But you can steal one of these trucks with a short piece of wire with alligator clips and a screw driver! Wouldn't hurt?

in the context of stopping a 'driveoff' thief, I would place my efforts elsewhere..

beating thieves in a lot of cases is accomplished by slowing them down..

I'll concede, it's better than nothing.. and cool too if that's your gig, I got tired of it..

Re: Anyone running a quick release steering wheel?

you can use a vice grip to steer, don't need no stinking wheel

Agreed...if someone is planning on taking my truck it's gonna be gone probably no matter what I do.

I'm thinking more about the impulse thief! No wheel, no deal.

I like it , probably look into installing one on my truck for the cool factor alone, if it helps in the theft department so be it!
Just need to make sure what ever wheel I install doesn’t interfere with the turn signal lever. Current wheel installed by PO is terrible, hand seems to always contact the signal lever :cuss

I have one in my car,I have a momo steering wheel, the key is getting the right hub adapter for your steering wheel. Don't forget to compensate for the height of the adapter when anything other than a flat wheel.

Don't even need the screwdriver if it's a manual transmission
