Is it as easy as just swapping out rotors
I picked up a 67 C10. The truck has already been converted to four wheel disc brakes, but the problem is it’s still six lug. I would like to convert it to five lug. Is it as easy as just swapping out the rotors?

On the front end yes rear end will need new axles or have the holes welded up and machine out 5 bolt pattern

Re: Is it as easy as just swapping out rotors
I think the fronts needs new spindles at least.

Re: Is it as easy as just swapping out rotors
It has the CPP disc brake kit with 2 inch drop spindles. Does that make a difference?

Re: Is it as easy as just swapping out rotors
I have a couple sets of 71-72 spindles, calipers and rotors but I was hoping to keep the drop spindles.

If it were me, I would call CPP and ask if their 6 and 5 lug disk kits use the same spindle - rather than make a decision based on our guesses.

That’s what I’ll end up doing I guess. Sometimes it’s harder to get anybody on the line at CPP than get answers from the forum.

Re: Is it as easy as just swapping out rotors
Should be a straight swap to 5-lug rotors if you have the CPP spindles on there now.

OK thanks. I can’t seem to get anybody on the phone at CPP. All I can do is leave a message.
