3/4 ton axle relocation

On a half ton truck you can move the rear axle back 2 or 3 inches by using springs from a heavier rated truck. This is not normally a desired effect and corrected by shims or easy inches. In my case, 2 or 3 inches back would be the intended result...problem being that I have a 3/4 ton and already have 56 inch springs out back. Are there any spring alternatives that would move my axle back with the stock perch locations or is drilling and relocating the perches my only option?

Re: 3/4 ton axle relocation

the gm 52" 1/2 ton and light 3/4 ton springs are centered eye to eye .

gm 3/4 and 1ton 56" rear springs are +4" on the back end of the spring pack .

just flip the whole pack end to end to push back 4" .

otherwise its off set axle plate shims or aftermarket new weld on perches for up to 1.5" movement .

or have springs made the way you need them . or find springs from another vehicle that can work for you .
