Exhaust header recommendation + question
Looking to install some headers when I get the motor back in, so I was looking for suggestions. I have seen the Flowtech and Hooker long tube headers, however, I am wondering if they will work with the manual trans. The clutch linkage is near the exhaust.
Also, when using headers on a straight six, you need to run coolant lines to the intake manifold, correct? This is to keep the intake warm? |
Re: Exhaust header recommendation + question
I did some more searching, looks like this is a good one.

Oh ya, those are cool.

Re: Exhaust header recommendation + question
That's probably what I would go with if I was putting a 292 in my truck

Wow, those look like a nice part. More nostalgic than tublular headers which is a good thing. Yes the coolant lines are to keep the intake warm.

I had those headers on my 65. Installed by the Previous owner hb32.
They fit nice and were super quiet. I used a heat plate to run coolant thru to warm up the intake plenum. |
