Brake lights

My brake lights are on when the ignition is on. I just added power brakes. No fluid in master cylinder. Where is the brake switch located ? Do I have to bench bleed the master cylinder and the lines before the lights go off ??

Re: Brake lights

The brake switch is behind the brake pad lever. If the brake lights are on, it's probably because the brake pedal is laying down too low. Did you have to adjust the brake actuator rod (the part that goes through the firewall)?

Edit: The brake lights shouldn't be routed through the ignition switch. They should come on any time the brake is depressed, whether the ignition is on or not.

Well I put the tumbler in the ignition And and the taillights are off. I don't know if that was the problem. I still can't find the brake light switch or the wires that you use to connect to the switch.

Under the dash, follow the brake pedal arm up, then look for a switch with white and orange wires going to it
