gas pedal

Looking for a gas pedal that has a spring And pad that's on the end of the gas pedal unit, Not fasten to the floor. Don't want aftermarket. Maybe I'm thinking late model pickup ?

Our C10's went to the pedal style you are looking for in 1972.
This began when they reverted from rods to a cable for the throttle. GM was having issues with the throttle binding at full throttle when the motor torqued over because of bad motor mounts. Back when they didn't have the interlocking metal to stop this when the rubber bond failed.
Maybe you are familiar with the bolt on adapter that goes between the newer style cable throttle and the old-style rod swivel attachment points? A member sells them and makes the conversion much easier. The modern bracket also has a mounting bracket for the THM 400 electric kick down switch. As GM moved the switch inboard, from the carburetor, when they changed to the cable. I believe the brackets to 1987 will work. That needs confirming.

I have a 92 with a floor mount rubber. I wonder if the pedal part went missing and just left rod ? I might search for a late model pedal. Can't find then in the parts book.

We have these GM NOS 1971-72 accelerator pedal pins and tension springs available in the below linked parts board f/s thread, we can also offer/combine ship the 71-72 style accelerator pedal and deluxe stainless pedal trim in either GM NOS or new repro. Let us know, Mel :chevy:
