Driver side floor indention
1 Attachment(s)
I have been looking at the floor pan of my truck and i see that there is an indention on the driver side rear by the door and not one on the passenger side. Is there a reason for this?

Re: Driver side floor indention
If i remember correctly my '61 had a cover with a couple of screws over that indent and underneath was an electeical plug possibly for the dome light or gas gauge. I put a seat belt retrsctor in there on my '64 and '66

I'm in the same decision making process, whether or not to use this indent for the seat belt retractor, or to put the retractor just to the rear of that (in the original seat belt bolt position at the rear cab support flange).

Here's a pic that shows it held some wiring.

Re: Driver side floor indention
Thanks for the info, I would have never thought that is was for a switch and wires. Nice to know.

Re: Driver side floor indention
my 61 has it with a cover. the main rear tail light harness goes through it. The changed it in later years maybe63 or 64? rear harness went out through the fire wall if i remember right.

Re: Driver side floor indention
I used that spot to mount a battery disconnect switch for anti-theft and battery protection.

Re: Driver side floor indention
That is interesting. I never knew about that. Anyone have a picture of the cover and the wiring? Just curious to see it.
