66 K20 Frame Tail Length
5 Attachment(s)
My 66 K20 eight foot bed Fleetside is missing the tail ends of the frame rails, and I will need to extend to the correct length in order to properly mount the bed. How long should they be? Photos show the right rear rail as it sits. Measurements were taken from the back of the cross piece.

Re: 66 K20 Frame Tail Length
Right behind your rear spring frame bracket there is a small hole in the side of the frame rail. On my 66 K20 it is 11 1/4 inches from the middle of that hole to the end of the frame.

I don't know if I'd 'school you'.
I'll see if I can find the thread. That's been asked, regarding that one cross member being at a slight angle. I'll see if I can find it. But it's not a error in assembly. Sorry if my tone sounded like I was trying to set you straight. No pun intended. :) |
Re: 66 K20 Frame Tail Length
Found it - You'll see it the same on many leaf spring trucks of our generation.

I measured for a fuel tank, of course I measured the long side, built the tank, proceeded to attempt to install…..drilled out the rivets and moved it back an inch and square…. |
