Upholstery foam question

Normally I would just PM GOM but thought others may wonder too.

Id like to finish up the bench seat Im putting together while we still have warm weather. Full foam bottom, hounds tooth bench. The bottom foam is in pretty nice condition. It had a smallish crack on the drivers side. I cut it clean on both sides and filled and glued the crack with a thin chunk off another seat foam I had.

Ive seen several seats done that the person has put an inch or so thick piece of foam over the stock foam, bottom and back. Seems like a good idea, just wondering what I should be asking for when I figure out where to buy it. I want to find it local not online.

On a full foam seat cushion a 1" piece of foam would probably be too much , 1-2 layers of dacron padding should do the job . This shop located in Monroe should have everything you need ,

This video starting at 2:46 in shows how the correct way to install a truck seat cover is done , Invert the cover and lay it on top of the seat and roll the edges over , Flip the seat upside down and start hog ringing the cover on from the back first . :chevy:

Re: Upholstery foam question

Ill give them a shot. I was unsure if a shop would sell this and figured Id have to go to a dedicated foam supplier.

Would you recommend the Dacron for bucket seats with slightly worn foam also?
