Can the AC service ports be moved?

There is no way to get access to both of the service ports if I install them right off the compressor.
Before I get the hoses crimped, is it OK to move the service port up onto the firewall? It would have excellent accessibility.

.

Just thinking this through I believe the location of the high pressure port shouldn’t matter. It’s gonna give you pressure readings wherever it lives. It’s the suction side that concerns me. It should probably live somewhere between the evaporator and compressor.

They don't look like too bad of a location. If your having trouble connecting to the high side there are 90 degree adapters for your manifold hose. I never use the high side anyway. You might be causing yourself a lot of work???

The way they are in the pictures, is the way I want to run them.
I have both, the 90* fittings, and the 135*? fittings...these are the best position I can get.
