1970 Steering column - what is this?

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,

I have a 1970 GMC - was a three on tree, converted to floor shift. I purchased a floor shift, tilt column to replace OE column. The pic is from my OE column, the CPP column I purchased does not have this. What is it for?, and do I need to move over to the aftermarket column or disregard? Thanks

That's for your reverse lights

And whatever you do don't lose those screws. "factory replacements" don't work.

Thanks for the info - will not be needed based on my install.

Thanks
