Very sorry about asking this...

I’ve watched you tube, and read all kinds of reviews, but no one seems to have the full answer, so I will ask here:

572 BBC, Lemons 2 1/8” headers to 3” collectors.
Going to run 3” mandrel bent pipe, and exiting in front of the rear tires.

I don’t want to run to the back of the truck, as I have leaf suspension with Cal-Tracs, and a tank between the rails. (Don’t want any extra heat in the fuel)

I also don’t want turn downs, as my back alley is dirt/gravel, and anything dumping down will just get the truck dusty.

I have seen Jason VanNatta run 2 1/2” mufflers, but I heard his new Venom truck, and it sounds like it may “rap”.

I do not want a rap/turkey shooter/brappy exhaust.

I want a deep mechanical sounding idle that will showcase the solid roller cam, and brute power of the big block.

What round, or oval 3” muffler will fit just after the crossmember where the steady bearing is, and give the sound I am looking for without killing the performance when going wide open?

Not sure what "killing performance" means to you. All the shootouts I have seen only have a variance of less than 10hp. This is on 400hp+ motors. Straight though, chambered, etc. does not matter. An X pipe or at least a crossover tube will smooth out the sound. Going to run dual 3" Flowmaster 70 series with an X pipe on my truck because I like the sound of the mufflers. Expecting well over 600hp, 10hp one way or the other is of no concern to me.

Length may be an issue, but look at big block medium duty truck mufflers. Ever hear a new C4500-5500 545-502? Deep tone and tight, no extra sound. You hear the motor not the exhaust

Check Borla exhaust products

I went with 6 inch round by 14 inch Magnaflow straight-through mufflers. Mine are 2 1/2 inches, but they should be very similar. I love the sound.

You need to do something closer to this picture. This is not my truck as mine is a fleetside, but the concept is the same. I have 3" exhaust coming out in front of the tires through the bed.

I would put a pair of these 18" from the collector along with the quietest muffler I could find.

Yep, Borla XR 1's. I love these mufflers. My camaro sounded like a prostock on the line.

I’m starting to lean to the Flowmaster Super 40 Series 953048. Offset 3” in/out.
So hard to choose.

A chambered muffler is an all together different sound. That’s going to be personal preference. It won’t have quite the performance of a straight through muffler but with a 572 you will still have plenty.

They are one that actualy states they are better flowing than the original 40 series.
I am just petrified that I'm gonna put a round set.on, and they will snap, rap, and pop every time I get on the go pedal.

Well....made the decision to go with the Flowmaster Super 44 in 3”.
Time will timely if I made the right choice or not.
