Beauty rings and valve stem length

I'll be installing tires on new rally wheels and using the deep 3 inch beauty ring. Do I need a longer than normal valve stem or just use short extenders if necessary? What have you run into?
Thanks

I just used the short extenders on the wheels that had the short valve stem.

Since you going to have the tires off just install the rings on the wheel with the tire off and get the correct length valve stem from the tire shop.

I might suggest also not just the correct length but in stainless steel.

Extenders it will be if necessary. I wouldn't put the beauty rings on first. Tire people would probably ruin them. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Beauty rings and valve stem length

If you take the rim and the ring to the shop they will be able to determine the length of stem.
Unless they're 100% incompetent ( not impossible, I used to work in the tire shop supply & equipment business) there should be no way they can ruin your rings.
Anytime I've replaced tires I get new stems, stems can fail, especially if they're old.
If you get the proper length stems you don't need extensions, they can also fai, leak, or fall right off.
It'll cost a few extra bucks to do it right, but a flat or leaky tire can ruin your day,
