What is this wire for?
1 Attachment(s)
Hello
I was looking for my service manual so I can answer this myself but have not been able to locate it. Can anyone tell me what this pink wire is for (circled in blue) ? Thanks! |
Re: What is this wire for?
GM always used pink for a switched circuit, should be tied into your ignition

Re: What is this wire for?
Looks like the positive lead for a tach.

Re: What is this wire for?
No. BU light would be a direct wire into the ribbon wire plug at the firewall that runs to the light switch and into main harness. Not connected to the switch but uses the path. The tach wire (pink) is a switched line. It will have a second plug close to the fuse box connector to dazie chain additional options. The aux battery relay trigger uses a pink wire and is supposed to be connected to the unfused terminal towards the right of panel. Stands to reason the tach would go to same pin and dasie chain if both option were on the truck. I am redoing all the wire currently and that seem most logical setup. It's unfused but apparently how it was from factory

Follow the pink wire coming out of the fuse box and see where you see it goes
