The real question is has anyone talked to the design team of the current crop of GM pickups ? In my humble opinion they are just hideous looking. Not to mention they are mechanical nightmares. A close friend bought one and has had nothing but major problems. Transmission failed at 30K, now it’s in the dealer for valve lifter issues.

Not even 10 seconds ago I mentioned just that. That's a bummer. If it were me, fix, detail and sell that turd.

I prefer Tundra for 4x4, really great luck with two. My 2013 Tundra rock warrior kicks with the 5.7, stock dual exhaust, it's fun, and superior in everyway the low mile 2020 Ford 150 I drove 14 hours Saturday, gross;):lol: Isn't mine. Short my 71 C10, my 2013 Tundra was the best deal I ever got really, it's worth 33% more than what I paid in 2020, compliments "inflation" and low miles. I have no use for another "new" truck, ever. The Tundra only has 78K miles. The new Tundras look awful to me too, feminized perhaps::smoke: Looks too much like a sedan IMO, for starts. I thought just Honda trucks were supposed to be feminine. Just kidding, but not really.

Picture of my Tundra:lol: It's the only pic I got. Somewhat stout in appearance, but the performance excellent. Only downside is the prior owner left it in the sun, so the clear has since pealed off most of the cab's top. I'll have it painted someday, no rust no hurry. Toyota paints leave lots to be desired, but they can run forever and are often very comfortable.

Yes, I dislike the current gen GM trucks. However, I really like my 2017 and 2019 GMCs. Never had any issues with either one, but always change oil at 5k miles with AMSOIL, and the 2017 has been tuned since day one, so AFM was never working. The undercarriages are annually sprayed with Fluid Film.

I had a ‘22 2500 HD 6.6 gas truck that I put close to 100K of trouble free miles on. It wasn’t the most attractive thing in the world but mechanical nightmare it absolutely was not.

In regards to the current year range trucks:
I’m kinda toying with the idea of replacing my 91 C3500 with a new model. BUT,
I’ve had numerous owners tell me that the transmissions are plagued with problems.
Shifting from OD to 1st Low at Highway speeds.
Shifting into Neutral while towing heavy loads up hill.
Not shifting past 2nd when cold, just to name a few.
THEN, I looked into reports on various consumer websites.
Lots of reports of these problems, and GM hasn’t acknowledged them, yet.
Dealers are having to deal with their loyal customers, with no Corporate support.
This really hurts the dealerships that are in Small towns.
Since hearing all this, I’m now looking at a LS or Diesel swap, because the rest of my truck is still in great shape.:smoke:
