DBW Pedal. How to get the right ergonomics?

Yup. Still Alive and still plugging away at Woody - life has definitely got in the way of play hence the delay.

Anyway...

I have my 07 Silverado DBW pedal mounted to the original throttle pedal holes in the firewall and bent the pedal so it is now in the right plane - challenge is that the pedal is too high.

Now before I go all cave man, cut a wedge out of the pedal, bend and weld how have others created the ultimate throttle to brake pedal ratio?

Read the various threads and seen the awesome fabrication but:-

1. Dont want to spend $100 plus shipping for a bent bit of steel - not taking anything away from anybody but seems a tad expensive.
2. Dont really want to be welding close to the sensors as that seems like a great way to throw a code.

So, fellow cave men, how did you do it?

Edit Just found this which is probably cave man engineering at its best but seems to work!

My adventure included fabricating a mount at the angle I wanted.

I have a truck pedal with the electric guts from a van pedal.

I adapted the DBW to the stock pedal back when I built mine. Here are a couple pics.

Thanks for the pictures, the visualisation really helps.

Didn't get the opportunity to work on Woody this weekend but found the original pedal recently so will look and see if this achieves the pedal set up I am looking for.
