Convert Mechanical Clutch to Hydraulic
Has anyone successfully converted a mechanical clutch linkage to a hydraulic system ?
I am wanting to use a stock bell housing with a slave cylinder. Does anyone know of a kit that offers a slave cylinder and mounting bracket that aligns up with the stock bellhousing & clutch fork ? |
Re: Convert Mechanical Clutch to Hydraulic
I am in the process of doing so for my '65! All I needed was a Captain Fab brake booster bracket that has the provisions for a clutch master cylinder similar to the arrangement of early 60's trucks. I then got a Wilwood master and slave combo that will work with my '94 T56 I'm installing.

Re: Convert Mechanical Clutch to Hydraulic
I figure you would have to use the 60-62 bellhousing with cylinder and fork. Then get the rest of the firewall stuff from the mighty Captain Fab

Yes, Original bell housing.
Need slave cylinder with a slave cylinder bracket that align the slave cylinder and clutch fork up correctly |
Re: Convert Mechanical Clutch to Hydraulic
I used these guys when I converted my 56 Pu to a hydraulic clutch set up.
Would recommend. https://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/...r-gateway.html You will need to get a master cylinder and make sure that the firewall is strengthened but this was simple and effective. Let us know how you get on. Paul |

Thank You ! |
Re: Convert Mechanical Clutch to Hydraulic
American Powertrain sells a hydraulic throwout bearing. I have been using one for a couple of years with a T56 in another car.
