65-C20 Assembly question
2 Attachment(s)
Getting started on reassembly and the rear axle seems off after I attached the springs to the Trailing Arms. Is there a particular position for the spring to be attached to the frame or the Trailing Arm?
Look closely at the springs - They seem like the Left one (Top Picture) is looking more tilted toward the left and the Right one seems a little tilted to the left. Do you see the tilt? Should I make they look more Vertical? Let me know, John |
Re: 65-C20 Assembly question
I would measure from the brake backing plate (or the lip of the drum) and make that the same on both sides.
I would also do that with weight on the axle, not hanging. K |
Re: 65-C20 Assembly question
I also feel that the problem is the lack of weight. As the frame moves closer to the rear axel the locating arm will push the axel housing towards the passenger side. That rear suspension setup had some truly weird geometry in rough terrain, which is probably why it wasn’t used for the 4x4 models
