Popping fuses

I am having a problem with my 72 Jimmy popping the turn signal and brake fuses whenever I use either. We have installed a Painless wireing harness, but we connected to the back lights pre-existing wire. We have checked everything we could think of...traced wires, bulbs, flashers, rebuilt steering column turn signal control.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, it is too good of weather down here not to be going topless in my Jimmy.

Could it be your brake light switch shorting out?

Maybe its the loose nut behind the wheel!
I hate electrical work so bad I would just put another harness in it.:flag:

electrical work sux!!!

I'd check the grounding points in your tail lights and clean any rust out of the bulb sockets. Might even have "previous owner thought he was an electrician" problems (i.e. something wired together that shouldn't be/ hacked up trailer wiring/ etc.). I would consider getting a new rear harness to mate to your painless setup. Good luck!
