Advanced Adapters (AA) makes an output shaft that makes your 700r4 look like the back of a th350 out of a 4x4. The bolt pattern on the case is the same, you just need an output shaft to mate right with your adapter. Buy the output shaft from summit (they are cheaper than from AA), take it and your case to a tranny guy that knows what he is doing, have him rebuild it while he has it apart.
The 700r4 is almost 2 inches longer than the th350. You can move the transfer case back 2 inches and have work done on both driveshafts or move the engine forward the amount required.
After reading about other's swaps, I think I'll move the engine forward as there is more than enough room if your V8 is in the factory 4x4 position.
My 700r4 has been on the shop floor for a couple of years waiting for me to get motivated, and come up with some cash.
