nothing wrong with that as long as you dont break any of the above items, mounts or manifold,s etc. i once started up an engine minus oil pan and timing cover, etc, yeah.... was a 1969 Ford 240 engine.. back when i didnt know any better. it ran nevber locked up or squeaked or anything, i eventually put it back together and drove the truck again, the engine outlasted the body. i eventually disassembled engine for the last time after the front clip fell apart.
