Yep, you're on the right track. Unless you take it somewhere to be blasted, it's basically a PITA Let the oven cleaner sit a while. If you can get the frame in the sun, heat helps the oven cleaner work better. Make sure you use eye protection when you pressure wash it all off. Don't want any splash back into your eyes.
